The Yulla Kanda Trek is a hidden gem located in the heart of the Indian Himalayas. This trek offers a perfect blend of stunning landscapes, challenging trails, and cultural experiences. You will traverse through dense forests, cross sparkling rivers, and encounter the serene Yulla Kanda Lake, surrounded by majestic peaks.
It is believed that the Pandavas made this holy lake during their exile in the Himalayas, and it is the highest Krishna temple in the world.

So, Yulla Kanda trek starts from Yulla Khas, a small village located on the slope of hills. To reach here you can easily come through a car or a bus, and from shimla it's at a distance of approximately 200 kms. You can experience the rich kinnauri culture in this village and the people here are very kind and helpful. They might even welcome you for a cup of tea and this village is also famous for kinnauri apples.
And if you want to stay here, you can stay at the Satkaar Homestay, which is right beside the roadhead.

So once you started your journey from Yulla khas your journey to paradise begins. As you proceed further on the trail, you will find a huge waterfall which is on the opposite side of the trail and the villagers call this waterfall as Goin Garang (Garang means waterfall). After this you will came across a small village known as yuldang where you can take a halt and continue your journey afterwards.

After yuldang you will came across another magnificent waterfall known as Talin Garang. And from yuldang you have to travel through forest until base camp where you will came across the meadows and mighty Himalayas.
Here you can hear the thundering of the water streams and witness the snow-capped mountains.
Being a moderate trek, it takes around 5-6 hours to reach yulla kanda base camp from yulla khas.

Next morning you can continue your journey but now it will be a steep climb from base camp.
This trek is adorned with diverse plant life and occasionally, you might spot rare Himalayan wildlife. You will came across the bhojpatra which was used to write vedas and grantha and you will aslo see the State flower of Himachal Pradesh i.e. Gulabi Buransh .

While approaching towards yulla kanda top you will also came across through a lake which is known as bhim kund or kasorang lake.

But once you reached at the top you will feel like you are in heaven.
A beautiful temple between the pristine lake surrounded by snow-capped mountains, it just feels like a painting.
