Civic engagement is the cornerstone of a functioning society and democracy. Empowering people to contribute to and shape their communities and governments in powerful ways.
From local advocates and grassroots organizers to elected officials and community volunteers, civic leaders come in many forms. But they all share a common goal: to drive positive change and uplift their communities.
On this month’s program we’re exploring the vital role civic leadership plays in shaping the future and the programs empowering a new generation of leaders.
We visit FIU’s Maurice A. Ferré Institute for Civic Leadership to see first-hand how they are continuing the legacy of late Miami Mayor Maurice A. Ferré by educating students on the importance of civic engagement. https://ferre.fiu.edu/

Our last stop is in Belle Glade, a rural agricultural community in western Palm Beach County.
