Day 5 | We explored Lake Brienz by boat. Set against the backdrop of Bernese Alps, Lake Brienz is one of the most picturesque lakes in Switzerland. We bought one-day tickets for Lake Brienz cruise and set off with the first scheduled boat of the day.

After an hour and a half ride, we disembarked at the village of Brienz. We spent two hours strolling along the promenade, taking in the beautiful views of the village. Then we hopped on the next scheduled boat, and got off at Giessbach Waterfalls. From the boat dock, we took the funicular train up to Grand Giessbach Hotel. Nestled on a hill above Lake Brienz, the hotel offers breathtaking views of the lake on one side, and the Giessbach Waterfalls on the other side. From the hotel, we followed a path into the forest and enjoyed a closer view of Giessbach Waterfalls. After that, we hiked from Giessbach Waterfalls to Iseltwald.
