Son-yong Kuk, better known as 'Shine Kuk,' describes herself as a Korean by blood, Pinoy at heart.

It is not at all easy for a pure Korean to enter the local showbiz in the Philippines, but here she is, quickly gaining support and love from Filipinos which made her win the “You’re my Foreignay” contest of Eat Bulaga, and subsequently appearing on numerous televisions shows including Unang Hirit, I-Juander, Ryzza Mae Show, Motorcycle Diaries, and Sunday All Stars.

She also won the Miss Korea Philippines in 2018.

Besides from becoming one of the rare cases of a Korean hosting and acting in the Philippines, she made another history by starting a career as a Shop TV home-shopping host. She is the very first Korean to become one.
