Out and about Walking in Stow-on-the-Wold

So, today's walk is in the historic market town of Stow-on-the-Wold which is nestled deep in the heart of the Cotswolds on a 800ft Stow Hill. The town's main attraction is most likely the historic market square which in it's heyday could of seen 20,000 sheep sold in a day due to the thriving Cotswold wool trade. Stow-on-the-Wold is also is popular for its parish church St Edwards.

We start the walk from the door at the rear of St Edwards Church. This door is worth a special mention as it is a popular tourist spot in its own right which is mainly due to the solid oak arched door which is flanked either side by yew trees which is why this door is now widely known as the "Tolkien Door" , when seen in person you can understand why!

I was very much hoping that the lantern above the door would of been switched on but sadly not and as I started the walk at not too long after first light it was very dark by the door due to being shrouded by the large thick canopy of the Yew Trees. So in post production I tried to emulate the lantern being lit with some um...well very questionable VFX as well as some dodgy fog overlays to complete the scene. You should be able to see the the look I was going for in the opening scene but I feel I fell short of achieving the desired look I was after. This was all done in post on the same day as filming including writing a simple chord progression in A minor for a Church Organ to complete the ethereal vibe that I was trying to achieve...
