The Wende Museum is proud to team with Stanford School of Medicine in presenting a collaborative guest speaker series entitled “Art Across Boundaries” which examines the overlap between visual arts and science and how the two areas can inspire and enrich each other.

Anne Niemetz is a media artist and designer working in the fields of wearable technology, interactive installation and audio-visual design. She is particularly fascinated by the convergence of art, science, design and technology, and she pursues collaborative and cross-disciplinary projects.

Her work has been exhibited at Ars Electronica, Austria; BODY festival, Christchurch; Microwave International New Media Arts Festival, Hong Kong; The ZKM Karlsruhe, Germany; Happy New Ears festival, Belgium; LACMA – Los Angeles County Museum of Arts, USA; MAC – Museo de Arte Contemporáneo Santiago de Chile; SIGGRAPH Cyberfashion Show, USA; Montevideo Institute, Amsterdam, Netherlands, and at various other international festivals and screenings.

Anne holds a Media Arts degree from the Staatliche Hochschule für Gestaltung Karlsruhe, with a focus in digital media and interactive sound installation, and an MFA in Design|Media Arts from the University of California Los Angeles. Since 2007 she’s been living and working in New Zealand, where she holds the position of Senior Lecturer in the Media Design programme at Victoria University of Wellington. See niemo.info for more.
