Maragogipinho is considered the largest ceramic center in Latin America, located about 220 km from Salvador and 5 km from the city of Aratuípe.
The craftsmanship of clay is a tradition with more than 300 years, the potters are called artisans who manufacture the pieces, they learn the craft from an early age, an art that is passed from father to son.
Maragogipinho is a village in Aratuípe, a quiet place. It is located on the edge of an arm of the Maragogipinho River that flows into the Jaguaripe River.
And from the community come the main ceramic pieces that maintain the tradition of the Feira de Caxixis in the city of Nazaré in Bahia.
