Seal Island is a small land mass located 5.7 kilometres (3.5 miles) off the northern beaches of False Bay, near Cape Town, in South Africa. The island is so named because of the great number of Cape fur seals that occupy it. It is 5 acres (2.0 hectares) in area and home to 64,000 cape fur seals. The dense population of seals at certain times of the year attracts the seal's main predator, the great white shark. Seal Island and the adjacent waters provide rare opportunities for those who wish to witness attacks by great whites on the Cape fur seal and to observe social interactions amongst creatures of both species.

Seal Island (l'Isola delle Foche) è una piccola isola localizzata nella parte nord di False Bay, in posizione centrale, a circa 5,7 km dalla costa, vicino Città del Capo, in Sudafrica. È particolarmente rinomata per le interazioni che qui hanno luogo fra il grande squalo bianco e l'otaria orsina del Capo. L'isola prende il nome proprio dalle otarie che qui vengono a riprodursi in gran numero ed ospita anche una piccola colonia di pinguini africani e alcune specie di cormorano.
