While the current Mazda CX-5 belongs to the second-gen SUV that was introduced in 2017, the compact SUV will be a carryover model for 2025. We don’t expect Mazda to make any major changes to the 2025 Mazda CX-5. Here’s what we expect from the new CX-5.

Unlike other SUVs in Mazda’s lineup, the CX-5 forgoes a rugged look for a more premium and sporty design. The 2025 Mazda CX-5 is expected to retain the same exterior design as the current SUV that’s on sale. The current CX-5 has an upscale design with thin headlights, a slim air intake opening, a tidy oval grille, and available chrome exterior accents. The bulbous rear end and elegant body lines along the side of the SUV are differentiators from more rugged and boxy looks. The rear end of the CX-5 features triangular taillights and dual exhaust outlets.

The interior design of the 2025 Mazda CX-5 will continue to have an upscale look with elegant lines, simple interior controls, and high-quality materials. Unlike other automakers, Mazda continues to fit the CX-5 with physical controls for the HVAC and infotainment systems for ease of use, while the clear gauges and traditional gear shifter further help the CX-5 stand out as one of the more user-friendly options in the segment.
