In this video Troy is looking at The New Fantastic Four is animated comic book cartoon that ran for 1 season of 13 episodes with each episode running for 22 minutes each. It aired on the NBC Television Network from the 9th of September 1978 through to the 16th of December, 1978. It was written by Stan Lee and was Directed by Brad Case, with the cartoon being produced by DePatie–Freleng Enterprises and Marvel Comics Animation. In April 2008, Liberation Entertainment had plans to release the series on DVD, but in October the company closed their UK branch and cancelling the DVD release but later in 2009, Clear Vision took over the home media rights and released the complete series in a 2-disc set on the 1st of March, 2010 in the United Kingdom only and there has been no Blu-Ray or 4kHD as of this video. The story beings with an attempted spaceflight where the crew of the space ship are bombarded by cosmic radiation causing them to crash land back to earth only to find themselves changed forever by their experience. Team leader, Scientist Reed Richard aka Mr. Fantastic gains the ability to stretch and shape his body to any shape, Sue Storm can become invisible and project telekinetic force fields as the Invisible Girl, and Pilot Ben Grimm becomes a super strong rock creature known as the Thing. Together with their advanced robot assistant, H.E.R.B.I.E., this quartet faces the threats to the world as the Fantastic Four.
