Getting your Monstera Deliciosa from a big box store is a great idea. However, these plants are not always arranged in a way that will make its new growth come out the way you expect. You can take a top cutting of your plant, start over and arrange your cuttings to make the perfect plant.

A moss pole is not the be-all-end-all to get your Monstera Deliciosa to climb. While you do need some kind of support pole (along with good lighting and patience) to get larger leaves and more fenestrations, a plank might be the best choice to help mature your monstera.
