Facing the House quad-committee on Friday (October 11), self-confessed drug lord Kerwin Espinosa apologized to former senator Leila de Lima for his role in implicating her in the illegal drug trade, which led to her years-long detention.

Espinosa claimed that he was forced to pin de Lima as well as businessman Peter Lim by then-national police chief Ronald "Bato" dela Rosa in November 2016, with a threat that he would meet the same fate as his father, slain Albuera, Leyte mayor Rolando Espinosa if he didn't go along with the plan.

Espinosa broke down in tears as he vowed to continue seeking justice for his father, who was killed in his jail cell after being tagged as being involved in the drug trade by former President Rodrigo Duterte.
