We weren't aware of the man eaters here, I never have had heard of any such case here.
This time the man eater was aroung killing 3 people before he killed Afsarul who was returning from Ranikhet via Girjiya, which is a direct road to take and while entering Ramnagar its a thick forest area. Much thicker than one would think. Very least travelled.
I too have travelled on a two wheeler two times.
Once I was returning from Ranikhet on a motorbike in 2018 at around evening time I passed the area and second time I was going to Badrinath and took a stop in Ranikhet, it was after sunset when we passed this haunted area, and infact did tried for 10 minutes to make an online hotel booking while standing along the road 5 kms ahead of Muhan after sunset.
