Feel the atmosphere of the pleasant city of Omsk on this short online walk through its streets, visited it as I travelled along the Trans-Siberian Railway. It is the third most populous city in the Siberian Federal District and the thirteenth most populous city in Russia.

There in Omsk I also visited an art festival that was taking place in the centre while I was there, there is a piece from it on the video.

Omsk was founded in 1716 as a fortress to protect the southern borders of the Russian Empire
During the Civil War, Omsk was the capital of White Russia.
Omsk is considered to be the sunniest city in Russia. The average number of sunny days per year is more than 300, as many as in Cyprus and Monaco.
In the times of the USSR Omsk was often called a ‘garden city’. At that time, there were indeed a lot of parks and squares here
