The Porsche 911 goes hybrid! For the 992.2 generation Porsche has given the iconic 911 hybrid assistance. But this is not for fuel efficiency or electric-only range. This is a pure performance hybrid similar to Formula 1 and what the 919 prototypes ran to victory at Le Mans. It uses two electric motors, one in the PDK gearbox and the other in the new turbocharger. It adds only 50kg weight and boosts the power of the GTS’s new 3.6-litre twin-turbo flat-six to 534bhp and torque to 610Nm. Most remarkably it delivers instant EV-like responses.

Editor Sirish Chandran tested the new Porsche 911 GTS at the Ascari race track in Spain and says the turbo-lag is non-existent and responses from the t-hybrid are even better than the 911 Turbo S. Does it justify the ₹2.75 crore (ex-showroom) price of the new Carrera GTS?
