A weasel is seen running around the garden. One small rabbit, so young that it is still unsteady on its feet, is hopping on the grass, possibly forced out of its den by the weasel and with no adult supervision for protection. At one point, the weasel is only a couple of meters away from the rabbit but its attention seems focused on something else. I then notice another baby walking strangely. I realised later that it was injured: a small wound at the base of one ear. All events occurred within 30 minutes. I am not sure what happened really. Could the second rabbit have been pecked by a magpie or a crow? The stout would have gone for the neck, wouldn’t it? What do you think??
