To commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Battle of Amritsar, 1984, we take a look back at the indian invasion within the wider context of the indo-Sikh confrontation that began in 1947. This marked a new dawn of subjugation in Panjab, that was imposed by the anti-Sikh policies of consecutive indian governments.

Ranveer Singh (NSYF) provides a 30 min overview, exposing the lies upon which the indian constitution was drafted and the immediate Sikh resistance that followed. He covers the Panjabi Suba Movement and the subsequent invasion of Sri Darbar Sahib in 1955.

We must understand the events of 1984 against the backdrop of india’s socio-economic, political and religious suppression of the Sikhs in Panjab.
