Passenger & freight trains in Auckland.
Otahuhu station is situated on the North Island Main Trunk – the main line between Auckand & Wellington. It is also part of both of Auckland’s Southern (Auckland to Pukekohe via Newmarket) & Eastern line (Auckland to Manukau via Glen Innes) suburban services. The southern exit of the Westfield Freight Yard is also adjacent to the station.

The station has been recently rebuilt and a bus interchange added.

1026 hrs: DC4970 heads into Westfield yard with a shunt from sidings south of the station
1027 hrs: DMU 856/806 leaves the yard en-route to Papakura, to operate the Pukekohe shuttles
1030 hrs: DC4041 pushes a shunt southbound
1031 hrs: EMU set AM415 with a Manukau to Britomart (Auckland Terminus) via Glen Innes service.
1038 hrs: EMU AM281 with a Britomart to Papakura via Newmarket
1041 hrs: DC4041 returns light engine from its shunt, light engine
1044 hrs: EMU set AM646 with a Papakura to Britomart via Newmarket service
1046 hrs: EMU sets AM580 & 428 with a Manukau service
1050 hrs: Sets AM266 & 334 with an empty car service to the Wiri maintenance and stabling depot
