Columba was banished from Ireland and journeyed to Iona in 563 CE. He established the first abbey in that region and began to convert the northern Picts. It marked a major step in the conversion of Scotland (the area was then part of Dal Riata) to Christianity. It was also a turning point in the assimilation of the Picts.
The weather was "dreich" - rainy and windy. I had to use my waterproof camera for most of the video and this resulted in poor audio quality. I added subtitles to some sections.
