The Hochkar is a 1808 m above sea level mountain massif of the Ybbstaler Alps on the border of Lower Austria and Steiermark. The Hochkar drops steeply to the south to the valleys of the Lassingbach and the Salza, while its northern flank is gentler and drains to the Ybbs.

Das Hochkar ist ein 1808 m ü. A. hohes Bergemassiv der Ybbstaler Alpen an der Grenze von Niederösterreich und der Steiermark. Das Hochkar fällt nach Süden steil zu den Tälern des Lassingbachs und der Salza ab, während seine Nordflanke sanfter ist und zur Ybbs entwässert.
