가을로 넘어가는 문턱에서 스트레스 해소에는 연고전(고연전) 참석이 제격이다. 고연전(연고전)에는 아무나 참석할 수가 없어서 더 특별하다. 초대 받은 사람만 참여가 가능한 것이기 때문이다. 고려대에서는 법대 교우회 이사 자격으로, 연세대는 법조 분과 상임 이사 자격으로 참여했다. 오랜만에 만난 동문들을 보니 세월의 흔적이 역력하다. 유독 제 얼굴과 피부를 보며 선후배들이 놀라워할 뿐이다. 의학적 기준으로 노화는 20대부터 시작한다고 알려져 있다. 노화에 대한 인식과 배움 그리고 이에 따른 건강을 위한 실천을 빨리 했기에 그나마 외모 평가를 이렇게 받나 보구나 생각해 보았다. 저 나이에 저 정도 근력으로 응원을 열정적으로 하는 선후배들을 보면서 반성을 하게 되었다. 특히, 단상 위의 선배들 얼굴과 몸을 보면서 제 스스로 분발해야겠다는 판단을 확고히 했다. 오늘 축구 경기에서 연세대의 극적인 승리를 통해 고려대와 연세대의 우정이 한층 강화됨을 실감한다. 연세대와 고려대는 라이벌을 넘어 깊은 우정 관계로 미래를 창조하길 응원해 본다.
As we transition into fall, attending the Yonsei Uni-Korea Uni(Korea Uni-Yonsei Uni) Games is the perfect way to relieve stress. The event feels even more special because not just anyone can attend—only those who are invited are allowed to participate. I attended as a board member of the Alumni Association at Korea University’s Law School, and as an executive director of the Legal Committee at Yonsei University. Seeing alumni after such a long time, it was clear how time had left its mark. Yet, it’s always my face and skin that surprise my juniors and seniors. Medically speaking, aging begins in our twenties, and I thought to myself, perhaps I’m receiving these compliments because I learned about aging early on and have taken steps to maintain my health. Watching the passionate cheering from seniors and juniors, with such physical strength at their age, made me reflect on myself. Especially when I saw the faces and bodies of the seniors on stage, I firmly resolved to push myself harder. Today’s dramatic victory by Yonsei in the soccer match made me realize that the friendship between Korea University and Yonsei University has grown even stronger. I hope that beyond being rivals, Korea University and Yonsei University will create a future together, built on deep friendship. - Dr. ClemS
