Formula 1 is the pinnacle of motorsport, known for its high-speed racing, cutting-edge technology, and global fanbase. Governed by the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA), F1 features the fastest cars and some of the most skilled drivers in the world, competing in a series of races known as Grands Prix, held across various countries each season.

*Racing Format*
Each F1 season typically consists of 20-23 races, taking place on circuits ranging from iconic venues like Monaco to new locations in cities like Miami or Jeddah. Drivers and teams accumulate points based on their finishing positions in each race, with both a Drivers' and Constructors' Championship awarded at the end of the season.

*Technology*
F1 cars are marvels of engineering, capable of speeds exceeding 220 mph (350 km/h). They are powered by hybrid turbocharged engines, combining internal combustion and electric motors for both power and energy efficiency. Aerodynamics, lightweight materials, and precision tuning are key elements, allowing teams to gain competitive advantages.

*Teams and Drivers*
The sport is contested by 10 teams (constructors), each fielding two cars, with major manufacturers like Mercedes, Ferrari, and Red Bull Racing leading the grid. Drivers like Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen, and Charles Leclerc are some of the biggest stars, known for their skills, strategies, and fierce on-track battles.

*Global Appeal*
F1 has a massive international following, with fans drawn to its intense rivalries, thrilling overtakes, and unpredictable races. The sport has evolved into a global entertainment platform, with growing audiences, celebrity involvement, and technological innovations pushing the boundaries of motorsport.

ROMAIN GROSJEAN'S CRASH

Romain Grosjean's crash at the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix was one of the most shocking moments in recent F1 history. On the opening lap, Grosjean's Haas car collided with Daniil Kvyat’s, sending him into the barriers at high speed. The impact split his car in half, causing a massive fireball. Trapped in the flames for 28 seconds, Grosjean miraculously escaped with only burns to his hands.

His survival was largely credited to the halo, a safety device protecting the driver’s head, and the rapid response of the medical team. The crash highlighted the dangers of F1 but also underscored the life-saving advances in safety technology. Grosjean later called the halo a key factor in saving his life, and the incident sparked further improvements in safety measures across the sport.
