Film critic and podcaster Dhruv Goyal had a chat with director Dhruv Solanki, whose debut feature film, “It’s All in Your Head,” has gained plenty of love and admiration from people all around the world after it first premiered at the Hurghada Youth Film Festival 2023 in Egypt. The film won the Best Produced Award at the African Smartphone International Film Festival 2023 in Nigeria.

A homage to the American indie filmmaking spirit of filmmakers like Richard Linklater (“Boyhood”) and Sean Baker (“The Florida Project”), “It’s All in Your Head” observes one day in the lives of the Rajpurohit siblings — five twenty-something girls and one twenty-year-old boy who run an online thrift store called “Durty Fits. It’s a refreshingly non-judgmental snapshot of India’s youth trying to juggle their personal and professional problems in the digital age.
