This week we finally make it into Alice Springs but we don’t hang around too long. We set up camp at the Wangardi Caravan Park about 10 km west of Alice and use it as our base to do some minor repairs to the Caravan, get some washing done and top off with groceries before heading to the red centre.

On our way down to Alice we stop in the town of Aileron and visit the Anmatjere man, woman and child which would have to be some of the most imposing statues we have seen anywhere in the country. They are absolutely magnificent whilst we are there we meet the worlds friendliest camel, before heading a little further south and crossing the Tropic of Capricorn for the third time on this leg of our big lap.

After leaving Alice, we continue to make our way west towards Uluru to a campsite at the Kernot Ranges but we don’t hang around too long because what we see is absolutely disgusting, so bad in fact we didn’t even pull a camera out to take a photo. NO ONE NEEDS TO SEE THAT!

We decide to move further down the road to the Curtin Springs Roadhouse where we stay in the free camp for a couple of days just to catch up on some work and a little bit of downtime before we prepare ourselves to visit Australia’s Iconic RED CENTER.

So go and get yourself a cold drink and come and us for the adventure.
