BEAT Tour AT The Warner Theatre
In the 100 years that the Warner Theatre has been operational, what we all witnessed Friday night is worthy of one of the All-time show's performed there. It was something concert dreams are made of. There couldn't have been a better concert to celebrate the 100 years than having the incredible, amazing, Super-Crazy good BEAT tour thrill us all for 2 hours.

Adrian Belew Guitars/vocals, Danny Carey drums, Tony Levin Bass/Stick and Steve Vai guitars put on a technical explosion of the '80s King Crimson music that was wonderful. It's something we all thought would probably never happen for that genre of King Crimson, to tour again and we can all thank Robert Fripp for helping make this tour happen, it's quite amazing to have the talents of Danny Carey on his incredibly thunderous and Technical sharp drums along with everybody's favorite guitar wizard, Steve Vai in the band. The BEAT tour has far surpassed any King Crimson's fans wildest hallucinations of what was possible with any form of that '80s genre of King Crimson music ever being played live again.

But we must digress a little bit because we've all had to pinch ourselves and say, is this really happening?... and it is. Hearing the '80s King Crimson music really took me back to some of the most historical 80's concerts that they played in this area. Including several previously at the Warner, one being in 81 during the Discipline tour which they also played at Owings Mills, to the Beat LP concerts at Merriweather Post Pavilion in 83 and The Three of the Perfect Pair tour in 84 back at Merriweather. And then of course we were lucky enough to catch them back at the Warner Theater in 1995, almost exactly 30 years to the date when they last played at the Warner with the incredible California Guitar Trio opening the show for them. Tony Levin pulled up a chair sidestage and watched CGT do there thing, it was great.

But this tour is all of that minus missing Robert on guitar, but I think the combination of both Adrian Belew and Steve Vai take that over the top, this band is one of the greatest Super-Groups you will ever see in your life. The technical ability of both Vai and Belew, switching Robert Fripp riff's is mind-blowing! Adrian's voice is absolutely booming and outstanding, he is the greatest front-man of All-Time. But the Rhythm Section between Tony and Danny is absolutely thunderous and extremely powerful, when you start to hear Tony play those 80's King Crimson base and stick licks, you are there again in the 1980's, somewhere, and it was an absolute treat to experienced this music back then, and now in 2024 with BEAT Tour.
Much thanks to Steve K. Frank and Lighting director Dan.
